Yosuke Hasegawa 長谷川洋介

Born in 1966, Japan Yosuke Hasegawa graduated from Musashino Art University with a degree in graphic design. As a successful graphic designer from a major advertising agency, Hasegawa is experienced in working with well-known brands. His creations can be found in notable places such as the Haneda Airport in Tokyo.

In 2007, Hasegawa first started combining his works with banknotes in Japan. However, after witnessing the tragic 2011 Tōhoku earthquake's aftermath, Hasegawa decided to move from his hometown Japan and began a new chapter of life in Thailand. There, Hasegawa started trading and collecting banknotes to further diversify his art creations. As the number of his collection and creative pieces increased, Hasegawa held his first group show, “The Evolution of Paper” exhibition, in Taiwan. The exhibition was a great success and his works were well received by the public.

While his stay in Taiwan, he also fell in love with the way of life in Taiwan so Hasegawa decided to move to Taipei shortly after the show. While Hasegawa’s banknote series is what he is best known for, his illustrations with pop culture references are renowned as well. Currently residing in Taipei, Hasegawa is continuing his efforts to push the boundaries of art with his banknote art creations and illustrations.

出生於1966年的日本藝術家長谷川洋介Yosuke Hasegawa，畢業於知名的武藏野美術大學視覺傳達設計系，原本在東京某知名廣告公司擔任插畫設計師，但由於他過人的電腦繪圖與美術設計能力，在很短的時間就累積了許多與大品牌的合作，連在東京羽田機場都能看見他的作品。2007年開始使用鈔票為媒材創作，2011年311 東北大地震發生，心情低潮的長谷川夫婦決定離開日本，到了泰國，跟各國人士交換紙鈔作紀念，更多不同國家的貨幣，使他的作品更多元化。2018年至台灣宜蘭，參加年度特展「紙的進化論」並大獲好評，也因緣際會愛上台灣的生活方式，正式開始了移居台灣，落腳台北的創作生活，他的藝術創作讓人熟知的，除了玩轉鈔票的各系列外，跨界知名漫畫人物的《戴口罩》與《流冷汗》插畫也在各展覽中大受好評。
